RESULTS
FIRST/SECOND overall - Tied with 3.5/4.0,  CHRIS NIGGEL and KIRK PETTY split the prize money, $92 each, leaving Dennis Cummings out with "only" 3.0/4.0 since Dennis is rated too high to qualify for any other prizes even though he tied for Third overall.    The critical game between Chris and Dennis went down to a pawn ending with 2 minutes left, but enough time for Chris to convert the win.

UNDER 1800 - A clear win for PAUL MARSHALL with 3.0/4.0 winning $64.
UNDER 1600 - A clear win for ROBERT KERR with 2.5/4.0 winning $60.
UNDER 1400/UNDER 1200 - Three way Tie, FAMOUS TAYLOR, DAMON BROCK, JOSH STEELE winning $35 each.

The two SCHOLASTIC sections were highly competitive, with 2 individuals staying unbeaten, going 4 for 4 and winning their categories.

GRADE 12 FIRST place with 4.0/4.0 was BARBARA SIKOLOVA.    David McPherson indicates they have split a few games, so maybe she will play some rated tournaments and beat up on some of the other adults.  SECOND was DAVID PUENTES who created an interesting imbalance in his game against the winner.    THIRD place went to MARTIN NIEVES.

GRADE 11 went to tiebreaks with FIRST going to JAKOB ASBURY and SECOND to SHAUN GRIGGS.
GRADE 10 also went to tiebreaks with FIRST going to DANIEL MEYERS and SECOND to GABRIEL YOUNG.
GRADE 9 FIRST place winner was LEO ALEXANDER.
GRADE 8 after a head to head matchup FIRST place VICKY PIERCE edged SECOND place DANIKA BAKER.

GRADE 7 featured the other unbeaten player with 4 wins out of 4 games, FIRST place DAVID GILSON won games against both second and third place players.  We had to go to multiple tiebreaks to determine SECOND went to WILL SCHMIDT and THIRD went to JARED HORNE.
