- Direct Link to USCF Member Lookup--Use this link to look up the ratings and tournaments histories of USCF members.
- This Week in Chess--If you have a database program, you can download from TWIC weekly a collection of games played in the last week. Lots of games.
- Chessbase--Chessbase also follows the news and often provides light GM annotations of some of the games from big tournaments.
- Chess Cafe--One of the best chess instruction sites. Columns are monthly, spread out over the month, with updates on Tuesday night. Karsten Mueller writes a great endgame column; world class trainer Dvoretsky writes a column; Carsten Hansen reviews opening books; D
- Silman Chess--Jeremy Silman also has a nice site, updated monthly, early in the month. Lots of book reviews. Less slick than Chess Cafe, but lots of meat
- Sig's Chess
- The Daily Dirt Chess Blog--Mig Greengard runs a chess blog and gossip site. He is on a speaking basis with Gary K and occasionally passes things along. He has additional stuff including Nakamura annotations if you pay.
- Chess Tactics Server--A cool training site that is run by the Berlin Chess Club is the Chess Tactics Server. Over 20K problems, and not only are the tacticians rated, but so are the problems. You get appropriate strength problem based on your rating.
- Internet Chess Club--The premier place to play chess on the internet.
- Free Internet Chess Server (FICS)--A free place to play chess. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles and high profile of ICC, but you can't argue with free.
- Cajun Chess--Online Chess Store and Major Tournament Organizer.
