Welcome
Welcome to the web presence of the Little Rock Chess Club. This page is a work in progress and consequently all of the features are not yet functional. The games database is fully functional, but does not contain any Arkansas games yet (please submit your games in the forum).
We would love to hear any suggestions that you may have regarding the layout or content of this web site. Please join us in the forum to discuss the page and other topics of interest.
^ TOPAbout the LRCC
The Little Rock Chess Club always welcomes new members. If you are interesting in joining, stopping by for a game, or just learning more about the LRCC please email us for more information.
^ TOPMeeting Places
- Barnes and Noble
- The Little Rock Chess Club meets weekly at the Barnes and Noble on Chenal (behind the cafe near the magazines) on Tuesdays from 7PM until 10:15PM. The Tuesday night session consists of informal, non-timed games. Children and new players are welcome. If you don't know how to play, just ask-- the more experienced players are always willing to show newcomers the basics.
- To accommodate the heavy holiday retail period, the LRCC did not meet at Barnes and Noble during the month of December. However, now that the holidays have passed, the Tuesday night session is back on.
- Saint Vincent's Infirmiry
- The Little Rock Chess Club meets weekly in the DeSoto Room of Saint Vincent's Infirmary (Markham and University) on Friday nights from 7:00 PM until whenever. Friday night sessions feature rated tournaments, bughouse, blitz, and other fun stuff. Check the calendar of events (side panel) to see what is happening this week.
Browser Issues
I'm doing my best to make this web portal equally available to all users, regardless of the browser they use. There have been some issues with users of Internet Explorer 6.0 and earlier reporting strange looking fonts and links, particularly in the forum. This site makes use of standards-compliant cascading style sheets, and it seems that IE has some difficulty comforming to the standards. While I'm trying to work out all of the bugs, this site (along with many others!) works best with the free Mozilla Firefox browser. ^ TOP
